Now here’s a book with a lesson in it and the lesson is: BEWARE! Michael Parkinson is a brilliant writer and his words will transform your heart. I haven’t said this in a while but ‘given the proper permission, I would kiss that man!’ And I really haven’t said that in a while. He’s opened up so many of my eyes towards the bastion majestics of football (or, as the Spanish have it ‘Ballet de le fus’ – ‘Feet of the dance!’) and I mean before y’know I would have ‘What’s a offside’? but now y’know all is clear. The flowing prose is worth more praise than you’d think, I mean, I never knew Parkinson could be such a great writer, he’s a sullen and psmeric television host! But, there are we, a little surprise each day does you goodly.
