Some players state the gambit is no good, but there are many games (including correspondence) that indicate otherwise. The back cover of this book has a quote from the late Estonian Chess Grandmaster Paul Keres (one of the world’s top chess players prior to 1970), Keres stated [or perhaps wrote] “Experience shows that, despite the first impressions, the Latvian Gambit is hard to refute and in many instances Black obtains good attacking chances.”
