This is one of the most fascinating and well-written books by John Pearson, on the three Sitwells. The writer has researched his book so thoroughly and he writes incredibly well. Although I knew a little about Edith and Osbert, I knew nothing about their younger brother Sacheverell. It is a window onto an important time of our artistic past which John Pearson has memorably written about and which will ensure that generations of future readers will be able to gain access to this unique trio and their ancestors.
