Sir George Dyson, as well as being successful and celebrated composer, was a schoolmaster, broadcaster, lecturer, author and performing musician. This collection of essays and writings presents Dyson’s views of musicians and the musical world, including church music, aspects of musicianship and the musician’s role in society. Also included is a selection of the stimulating addresses he gave while director of the Royal College of Music.
