Beskrivelse
This fascinating book details the background and family history of Charles Hubert Hastings Parry, the composer of the tune “Jerusalem” and along with C V Stanford one of the architects of the English musical renaissance. It is of great interest, not just for what it tells us about Parry, but as a document tracing the development of a Victorian family. The book is detailed and clearly a product of thorough and loving research. It fills in much of the background to Parry’s life and explains much about his character.
